VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitors)
What Is VCI?
VCI (Volatile Corrosion Inhibitor) packaging is a type of packaging used to combat metal corrosion. Despite the troublesome and expensive old methods such as lubrication and wax coating, VCI technology is a clean, easy to apply and innovative method.
How Does VCI Work?
Special chemicals in VCI packaging products have a volatile nature. When the metals that need to be protected are wrapped with VCI products, the volatile VCI chemicals diffuse into the environment and form a molecular protective layer on the surface of the metal. This protective layer prevents moisture, salt, environmental pollution and other active substances that can cause corrosion from bonding to the metal surface.
How long does VCI protect?
VCI packaging products have a wide range of products for both short-term and long-term preservation. Our VCI formulations, designed for different metal surfaces, provide protection from 1 to 5 years when used correctly.
Thanks to the high amount of VCI concentration, the VCI vapor phase in the environment is created continuously and completely, providing qualified protection in long-term shipments.
Where Should VCI Be Used?
VCI packaging products can be used easily and safely to protect all kinds of metal surfaces where corrosion may occur. You can use it on all your metal products in iron, steel, zinc galvanised, copper, lead and other metal combinations.
